Privacy policy

Last updated 26 October 2026

Movearium is a training library and log for aerial, circus and pole athletes. We collect what the app needs to work, we don't sell your data, and we don't show ads or track you across other apps.

Who we are

Movearium is operated by Loepfe Consulting FZCO, licence number 56774, Premise Number 56774-001, IFZA Business Park, DDP, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. We decide how your data is used and we are responsible for it (in GDPR terms, we are the controller). Questions, requests or complaints about your data: support@movearium.com. A person reads every message.

This policy covers the Movearium app on iPhone and Android and this website.

What we collect

We use your camera, microphone and photo library only when you choose to film or pick something. Before a video leaves your phone, the app removes the place it was filmed and other hidden details from the file. On the Free plan, the app makes a smaller copy of each video on your phone and backs up that copy, not the full-size file. Free backs up to 2 GB of videos. Photos are saved again without their location before they are uploaded.

If you allow it, Movearium uses your phone's location to show events near you. The app asks your phone for a rough position once, and your phone's own map service (Apple's on iPhone, Google's on Android) turns it into a city and a country. Only that city and country are sent to us, to filter the events list. The position itself is never sent to us or kept.

We don't collect your contacts or advertising identifiers, and the app contains no advertising trackers and no third party analytics. If the app crashes, a crash report (the error, the app version and your phone type, with no name, email or content) is processed by Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.) on servers in the EU. Sentry also counts how many app sessions of each version end without a crash, with no name, email or content.

Usage data

To make Movearium better, the app records simple usage data: which screens and features are used, how long the app is open, the app version, and whether your phone is an iPhone or an Android phone. It never records your videos, photos, notes, names or anything you type, your location, your contacts or an advertising identifier. It goes to our own database, never to a third party, and it is never used for advertising or to track you across other apps. Each record carries your account ID so we can count people rather than taps; it is never shown to anyone, and only the Movearium team reads the totals. We keep it for 13 months, or until you delete your account. To turn it off, open Settings, go to Privacy and switch off Share usage data. Nothing more is recorded or sent from that phone.

The switch is saved on each phone, so if you use Movearium on more than one phone, switch it off on each one.

Who can see what

Private by default. New moves and routines are visible only to you until you make them public. Sessions are always private: they are never shown on your profile or to anyone else. You can still share a session as an image you make on your phone. Your profile shows a count of this week's sessions only if you turn it on: a number only, never which sessions.

Public items can be seen by other signed-in Movearium users. Your profile basics (name, username, bio, photos, the apparatus you train, your portfolio photos and videos with their captions and credits, your links and follower counts) are also visible to signed-in users. If your account is in Private mode, only your name, username and profile photo are shown. Your portfolio and your links are never shown to anyone you've blocked or who has blocked you, and nobody sees them while your account is in Private mode. Signed-in people can see who you follow and who follows you, unless you turn on Private mode. Your profile also shows signed-in users the month you joined and whether you are a founding member. If you turn it on, your profile shows how many sessions you logged this week, never the sessions themselves. None of this is shown if your account is set to Private mode, or to anyone you've blocked or who has blocked you. Challenge entries are public. When you post a clip to a Movearium challenge, that one clip, the name of the move and your caption can be seen by every signed-in Movearium user, on the challenge and in the feed. The rest of your library stays private. Finishing a challenge shows a small badge on your profile; how far along you are is shown only to you. You can delete an entry at any time. Accounts in Private mode can't post entries, and nobody you've blocked, or who has blocked you, sees your entries.

Never shared: your sessions, session notes and how you felt, the email address you sign in with, and your drafts. A move with no clips is a draft, and it stays visible only to you, even if it is set to public. Some things are shared only with the people you choose: a list you share with a class is seen by that class, and attempts you share with your teacher are seen by that teacher. When your teacher opens an attempt you shared, you see that it was seen; nobody else does. Notes on a list you share with a class are seen by that class. Tags and session options you make yourself are only ever seen by you. Events you post are always public to signed-in users, even if you never make anything else public. Once you block someone, they can't see your moves, clips, routines, sessions or events, and you can't see theirs. Your name, username and bio stay visible to them, as they are to every signed-in user; your photos, event flyers, portfolio and links do not. Your ratings on a move (its status, your confidence, the fear factor and how hard it is) are never shown to anyone else, even when the move is public or shared with a class. The note you write on a clip is only ever seen by you, even when the clip is public or shared with a class.

Shared by you. Anyone who can see something you made public can also film their screen or tell others about it. Only make public what you are happy for other people to see.

How we use it

We don't sell or rent your data, and we don't use it for advertising. We don't use your videos, photos or notes to train AI models.

Why we're allowed to use it

Privacy laws such as the GDPR ask us to name a legal reason for each use.

How you felt in a session, and what you write in session notes, can say something about your health, such as soreness or an injury. You choose whether to add it, it is only ever shown to you, and you can change or delete it at any time. We use it only to show it back to you, because you asked us to by adding it.

Payments

Payments are not switched on yet. At launch every account is on the Free plan, nothing in the app can be bought, and the app sends nothing to a payment service.

When paid plans start, you will buy Movearium Pro through the App Store or Google Play; Movearium never sees your card or bank details. We will use RevenueCat, Inc. to check which subscription you have. RevenueCat will receive your Movearium account ID (a random identifier, not your name or email), the products you bought, the dates and status of your purchases, and the technical details it needs to verify them (such as the app version, your phone's system version and your country or region). RevenueCat keeps its own record of these purchases. See https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy. We will update this page before payments start.

Services we use

These companies process data for us, only to provide their service to Movearium and under data protection terms that bind them to protect it.

Where your data is

Movearium is run from the United Arab Emirates and New Zealand, and your app data is stored in the EU (Ireland), where our hosting provider runs our database. Our team and some providers may access or process data from other countries, including the United States, where most of the companies above are based. Wherever that happens, we protect it the same way and use the safeguards the law requires, such as the EU and UK standard contractual clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. You can ask us for a copy of these safeguards.

How long we keep it

How we protect it

Everything between the app and our servers travels encrypted (HTTPS), and our hosting provider stores it encrypted. Database rules check every request, so each person can only read what they are allowed to see. Videos and photos lose their location before they leave your phone. Deleting your account needs a fresh sign-in. Only the small Movearium team can reach the data, and only to run and support the app. If a breach ever puts your data at risk, we will tell you and the authorities where the law requires.

Your rights

You have the same rights wherever you live. You can see, correct and delete most of your data yourself in the app. You can also ask us:

Email support@movearium.com, if you can from the address you signed up with, so we know it's you. It's free. We reply within 30 days; if a request is complex we may need up to two more months, and we'll tell you why. Where you gave consent, you can take it back at any time; that doesn't affect what we did before.

Depending on where you live, local privacy law also protects you. Examples are the UAE Personal Data Protection Law, the EU and UK GDPR, the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection, New Zealand’s Privacy Act 2020 and US state privacy laws such as California's. If you're unhappy with how we handled a request, you can complain to your local data protection authority, for example the UAE Data Office, the UK Information Commissioner's Office or the authority in your EU country. We'd like the chance to put it right first, so please write to us too.

If you live in the US: we don't sell your personal information or share it for advertising, and we use the things you tell us about how you felt only to show them back to you. If your state's law gives you rights, email us and we will honour them. We will never treat you differently for using them.

Children

Movearium isn't intended for children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect data from them. If you think a child has created an account, contact us and we'll remove it and its data.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date at the top. For significant changes, we'll let you know in the app before they take effect, and if a change needs your consent, we'll ask for it.
